When you arrive at a salon you and I will discuss the shape and colour you want to achieve with your cosmetic tattoo make up. Important factors in this decision process include the colour of your own
make up, your natural skin tone and what you the client are wishing to achieve on the day.
When we are ready to commence I take a before photo and start your client file, this is where I record all of the procedure for future reference. You will also be required to complete a Client Indemnity Form at the commencement of this consultation.
Either you or I draw in the exact shape of the area to be coloured. This is used as a guide and also gives us the opportunity to check that the balance and symmetry is perfect and that you are happy with the look you will have on completion of your procedure on the day.
I apply a cream/topical anaesthetic for approx. 10 minutes. This will numb the area before we begin.
I then put the machine together showing you all the pre-packaged and disposable parts. I then turn on the machine so you get to see and hear how it works. It is not a traditional tattoo machine that I use; it is more like a large pen device.
I will then apply the colour gently using more anaesthetic as we go. This will enable me to keep the area numbed during the procedure. This is the most widely used and comfortable method for applying cosmetic tattoo make up.
Once the pigment is implanted, we give you everything you will require to take care of your cosmetic tattoo, after care instructions, cream etc. We take an After photo and off you go.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER:
If you are nervous, you can take Panadol. This works on the nerve endings and is very helpful. Or alternatively Panadeine, which does the same but also helps you relax a little. If you are prone to runny eyes, maybe an antihistamine before hand could help.
It is important you do not to take any vitamin B or Aspro prior to any procedure.
If you have ever had a cold sore, it is very important to follow these instructions if you’re having cosmetic tattoo make up on your lips. Lysine tablets need to be used prior too and after the treatment. And also Zovirax cream needs to be applied to the lip area for at least 4 days prior too and after the treatment.
Ice cubes used after the treatment will also help prevent the virus; as well as reduce any swelling. This can also help as a preventative to a cold sore break out.
If you are on blood thinning tablets it is highly recommended that you ask your doctor if you can go off these tablets if contemplating having your lips tattooed. Sometimes with lip tattooing you can have excessive bleeding if on blood thinning tablets and excessive bleeding can mean the skin will not hold or accept the pigment very well but this can also depend on what you choose also.
For clients who bruise easily or mature age clients it is suggested that you take Arnica tablets before lip or eyeliner procedures.
Colour in Skin
There is no guarantee to pigment holding in the skin, because as with very light/blonde eyebrows or hairstrokes, there will always be fading, and there is no way to determine accurately how the pigment will appear in the skin over time. All tattoos (either cosmetic or body) can and will fade, and it is not possible to predict the longevity of the colour once implanted. It is always recommended to a client that a retouch of colour be done about every 12-24 months.
It must always be explained that the colour may not stay the same over time. All colours fade out over time and cosmetic tattooing is no exception. No matter where colour is placed, hair, clothing etc they all fade out over time and long lasting cosmetic tattoo is no exception. Pigments have come a long way over the many years cosmetic tattooing has been available in Australia so many issues witnessed 10 years ago are not as likely to occur now such as when it faded and may have left a residue in the skin of either grey, orange, red or sometimes purple tones. All of this can always be colour corrected by an experienced professional cosmetic tattooist.
Human skin comes in a range of colours, part of what gives skin its colour are soecial cells within our epidermis which are called Melanocyte, this produces melanin a brown in colour pigment. No matter what your ethnic heritage is all people have these cells. Clients with darker skin tones may be more susceptible to the condition PIH (Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation.) Clients with PIH may develop hyperactive melanocyte cells in their skin and if their skin experiences any form of irritation their melanocyte may be stimuated to produce more melanin, therefore meaning certain skin tones are best not to be tattooed.
Colour can be difficult but we do endeavour to match as close as we can to either your colour request or the colour most suitable for your skin tone. We do not use black alone on eyebrows becasue they can take on a blue/black affect over time as can be seen in some body tattoos.
What is Long Lasting Permanent Make Up
Permanent Makeup or Long Lasting Cosmetic Tattoo can benefit anyone who wishes to have a natural enhancement to their appearance without the use of makeup. The procedure has many names. Most of the time Permanent make-up or cosmetic tattoo is used. Less common names include: Micropigmentation, Dermagraphics, or Micropigment Implantation. They all mean the same thing and allow you to look your best from the moment you wake up. Wake up with Make Up.
Long Lasting Permanent Make Up with Kelly at Tatu Me offers you enhancements for your Eyebrows, Top & Bottom Eyeliner, Eyelash Enhancement, Lip Liner, Lip Blend/Full Lips. Other popular requests include Scar Camouflage, Beauty Spots/Beauty Marks, Hair Loss Camouflage or Areole Creations. During cosmetic tattoo procedures, tiny individual implants of pigment are deposited into the dermal layer of the skin. There are several methods used today, including the traditional tattoo machines, the pen or rotary machine and the manual or hand method. Tatu Me uses a a Rotary Machine which is a little pen-like device which hardly makes any noise.
Permanent make up procedures typically take between 10minutes (Beauty Spot) to 1.5 for longer treatments such as Eyeliner.
